Housebreaking Male vs. Female EBD

Was this different for anyone else? Housebreaking my female was a piece of cake. She probably only had 2 accidents in her life. Housebreaking my male has been a challenge. I noticed he doesn't empty his bladder when he does goes. A little here, a little there, and hence he goes more often. He's getting a little better and we're having less accidents... checked with vet and he doesnt have bladder infection. But will he always do this or will he eventually stop this pee a little here and a little there thing? Hes 4 months.

Little pee here, and little pee there...sounds like marking??

I'm not an expert, but it sounds like he is marking his territory ? maybe they need to be separated so he can have 'His Area' for the time being? what do others think? or is it 'just a guy thing' ?

No it's not hard as you think

My Bubba is an American Bulldog and i have always had boys dogs before him Loulou is my first girl. what i always do is control the water dish> yes it left out freely but to be truthful I keep one eye on that dish and i"m in the habit of when they drink they go out right after the drink. I think I spend half of my life taken the dogs out. Lol I do take them out alot , i don't wait intill they run to the door which sometimes they do i have gotten in the habit of just getting up and taken them out about evry hour and half. my yorkie was old and could not hold it for long peiords of time so he went out even more. But it is easy I have a yard and I open the door and out they went. as a puppy Bubba was taught that he would go into time out if he pee in the house  we did not praise him but if he went outside he was praised and no treats were ever given just praised and kisses.  if they went into the house  they were told bad boy and then went into the crate. Kill me more than them. yes I did take them to the spot and let them smell it and told them Bad boy no peeing in the house, I never yell or hit them i just let them know Mommy said No  to this. I have had all kinds of Breeds Rotties< Chows and Lab and they learn really fast with me. Dogs know when they make you happy if you give the Praies and hugs pat on the head tell them they did great and after it evn walk with them to a toy. but peeing in the house is NoNo i walk them right  back to where it happen and told them No Bad Boy then in the crate they went. but the one thing that works is you take them out all the time. they drink outside they go. I even do that Loulou. Boys are not hard at all.

Good point.  I have been

Good point.  I have been calling Biscuit My Little Water Vampire.  He would drink an entire 32 oz. bowl of water if I let him.  Cupcake would drink what she needs, then walk away.  Not Biscuit.  As long as its there, he's gonna drink it.  I've also gotten into the habit of giving him water and taking the bowl up.  And I feel like I spend half my life taking him out!  Grr... I take him outside once an hour during the day, every 3 hours during the night.

My girl puppy has was  house

My girl puppy has was  house broken right away.  Now I have a boy and he is very hard.  Doesn't matter what time I get up at night he has already gone.  I think each dog is different and it just takes time.

Although he's gotten better,

Although he's gotten better, I was flabbergasted too because for the first month he lived with me, I'd wake up every 2-3 hours to let him out and he had already peed in his bed every time.  Cupcake would never pee where she slept, ever.  Even one time my alarm didn't go off to let her out for her middle of the night pee, and the next morning, 7 hours later, I woke up and scrambled to let her out and she hadnt peed one bit in her cage (but did take a superlongpee outside.)  I thought all dogs tried very very hard not to pee where they slept?  Biscuit doesn't care.  He'll pee where he sleeps, he like whatevs.  One time he even peed on his own head.  How, I do not know.
