And Jax is being a big ole baby. He doesn't want to come out of the crate to be examined. They finally put a bowl of food outside the crate and of course he come out for that. They said he whines whenever anyone gets near his leg. Its going to be a fun winter.

Oh boy...
Poor guy. I'm sure he'll feel better when he gets home. He's probably a bit scared in addition to being in pain. But they bounce back pretty quickly and I'm sure your big job will be to keep him quiet.
His crate
We moved his crate into the living room so he can be with us and watch TV. Hopefully once he is home he will settle in. Ozzy seemed lost without him last night--he came upstairs to sleep and he hasn't done that in a long time.
When Stella has her eye surgeries
I also "cheated" by taking off her e-collar when I was with her. If Jax behaves and doesn't get too excited, he could probably still watch TV with you on the sofa. You just have to make sure not to leave him alone so he doesn't jump off. And when you can't be right there with him, definitely keep him in the crate. I would also sit kind of holding Stella's paws just to make sure she didn't take a swipe at her face. I know your boy will appreciate the snuggles.
We got him
This thing that looks a donut that goes around his neck--it looks more comfortable than the cone of shame. I am working from home next week to be with him. We will probably take him out of the crate and cuddle him in the evenings--he is a huge cuddler. ITs the 4th week on that I am dredding--by then he will be feeling better, but still will have to be confined and he is not going to be a happy boy.
