Well just about, I am working till Friday at noon, and then not back till Tuesday, boy that will be nice.
I wish you all the best of Holidays and great memories made. I know I don't need to remind you to hug your bully, cuz.......well, in some ways were all a little bit alike.
I would love to issue a challenge to you though......as you are out and about during the next couple days I am sure you will find yourself at the grocery store. I challenge you to watch people, and seek out that elderly couple, family, or even a single person that seems to be really selective in what they are buying--trying to get the most for their money. Then stalk them (LOL) and get in the check out behind them...or better yet right in front of them if you can. When they go to pay slip the cashier a little something for their bill.
We did this last weekend, the four of us went into the grocery store with an extra $20 bill. We wandered around seperately and saught out our target. Three of us successfully found the right people, I thought I had the right one but in the end I changed my mind because of the last few items put in the cart (everything else was nutritious, fruga, and probably for kids.....then two cases of expensive beer) My daughter found a little old man and his wife, when we left we saw they were taking the bus so we gave them a ride home and my son took their groceries in, we then went back to the store and bought them a few more staples and some kitty food and cat litter since they only bought small bags because they had to take the bus.
It was the best 'community service' type thing we have ever done and we try to do something like this every year. One of the families my son 'stalked' ended up passing the $20 and another $20 to the family behind them......wow wouldnt that be cool if it multiplied like that several times.
Anyway, I have real strong opionions about 'hand up not hand out' and this project makes me be a little more grounded--and not so judgemental.
LONG story short, have a wonderful holiday, thank you all for your welcoming support and friendship. Looking forward to a great new year.

You have some mighty big shoes to fill.. You have a really fantastic, kind, caring and generous family.
I am so glad that you did what you did. If only more people would step up and help the elderly the way you did.
It made me cry. Thank you and your family so much for doing what you did.
Simple short - THANK YOU
You made me feel warm inside with this post, of an otherwise dreery day

That is amazing. I just read
That is amazing. I just read an article on the news that there are random people going into Kmarts and paying for peoples layaways. That article was so moving to me and I was thinking about what I could do (because I do not have enough to pay for someones layaway) this holiday season. Now reading your challenge made me realize that on some days $20 is alot to me, but for some $20 could really be helping them. I will be for sure doing your challenge. I can spare $20 to help someone. Thank you for your amazing deed, and giving others the idea also.
