Aside from having your bullies/ other doggies certified as "Therapy Dogs", that is? I would LOVE to be able to take Meaty
and Sophie to Nursing Homes and hospitals and/or participate in that wonder-bull program where you take your
doggies and have children with reading difficulties read to them ....if ONLY they could pass that Certification Test.... I have to be honest....
right now, they would NOT pass it....(and I take full responsibility that they are not trained well enough---YET!)
they are too exhuberant, and I'm afraid Sophie would think every single piece of
medical equipment was her personal chew toy....not to mention, she'd also try to eat every book annnd smother
the patients/ reading children with her sweet kisseshhh.....

Anyhoooooo......My sweet coworker/friend was just diagnosed with breast cancer. She requested I bring Meaty and Sophie over after
her mastectomy, and WOW----seeing them lifted her spirits immensely!!! :-) Once she starts chemo, I think Meaty
and Sophie will be regular visitors to cheer her up!!..

I randomly googled "bulldogs + breast cancer" and found this site that makes personalized buttons.....gave them
out to her, her family, and some of our co-workers. It was soooo cute, people asked me if there is ACTUALLY a bulldog
puppy organization for finding the cure......Welllllll, maybe not an ACTUAL organization per se, but these SWEET
bullies sure hope we find a cure soon!!!

HUGS....sorry about your Mom! Wow, if I were sick and
saw that pik of Gizmo behind the steering wheel, it would make my day soooo fast!!! :-)
P.S....my friends and I are gonna walk in the Race for the Cure next year, and I'll think of your Mom!!!

Griffin and Gracie just retired from Therapy Dogs
Griffin has been doing it for 8 yrs...Gracie a little less....its just so rewarding knowing that the dogs make the patiences happy
they did the nursing more...sometimes its the only company that visits the patients...
Griffin had to retake the test the first time i tried...i did everything wrong with him because i was so nervous...i took more classes and passed...it just takes lots of training and patiences.... good luck~~~

that is SO great that they did that!!! I used to volunteer
at a Nursing Home as an Ombudsman......when we were training, we learned that up to SIXTY PERCENT of nursing home
residents have absolutely NO visitors......I just could not get over that, never have! How terribly sad and depressing :-(
This sweet older couple used to bring their sweet Golden Retriever for visits and parties, and OH WOWWWW, to see these
residents get such JOY from that sweet doggie makes me wanna cry!!!!

Kippah is taking her CGC class right now
She just had her first of 6 sessions of the Advanced training. The ciriculum is designed specifically to pass the test. Our instructor said that it is very normal not to pass the first time around, and she specifically said that Kippah would do best to take the class, then sit in on the next one (for free) before she takes the test, because of her age (6 1/2 months right now)
She gave me a copy of the test grading sheet, looks lots ALOT of work, but I know it will be fun and SO worth it
Loves and Smooches, Kippa and Mama (Annette)
oh WOW, thanks for telling me that, it is starting to motivate
me to just start the training and stop talking about it....to quote your wonder-bull quote ..."I'm gonna carpe the hell
out of this diem!!!" :-) I also love that Kippa will take the class, then sit in on another one----talk about some great
reinforcement!!!! ..

I used to volunteer at a Nursing Home (just two-legged me, no doggies yet! hee hee...)
and saw the amazing JOY the visiting therapy dog brought to the residents!!! Makes
you wanna cry, since we were told about sixty percent of residents have NO visitors....ever!! :-(

What a fabulous thought!
What a wonderful thing you are doing. We know our bulldogs have the capacity to love everyone, this is a great way to spread it around.
