Hi everyone - I haven't been posting much but I'm still reading and keeping up on what's going on with all of you.
I wanted to share a happy story. Some of you may remember that I'm a foster mom for a local Bulldog rescue group - I shared the story of my second foster, Tyson, who passed away while in my care. Well, I've recovered from that sadness and was given another boy to care for. He was turned into a local pound - I had to pick him up from there. He initially was found as a stray in March and the shelter adopted him out to a family. Then about a month ago, this same family returned him to this same shelter saying he was "viscious". Apparently, the daughter of the owner poked the dog in the eye with a broom handle and he growled visciously at her. When I got him his eye was really messed up.
This dog was fabulous! He let me do anything and I mean anything to him and didn't fuss. He even allowed the vet to hand scale his teeth (he needed a dental) without being sedated - the vet said that maybe 1 out of 100 dogs would allow him to do this and this guy was one of them.
We really enjoyed having him, he is about 3/4 years old and was just a fabulous dog. He bonded w/my son - loved to plop next to him, roll over onto his back and beg for belly rubs! I had second thoughts about keeping him, but I knew he was adoptable and that there are many more bullies needing to come into foster.
Here's some pics of the sweet boy, Marvin. The first is his "pound" pic. He has a wonderful new mommy and even gets to sleep in the bed with her :)
Thanks for letting me share my story! Have a great holiday!
Great way to kick off the weekend :) thanks for sharing

Oh - I forgot an important part. Since he was turned in as "viscious" the shelter could not adopt him out, there policy was to either place him with a rescue group or euthanize him. So, because his previous owners abused him, he almost lost his life.
Theresa, that is so awesome!
What a beautiful boy he is and I'm so happy that you saved him! What a great feeling that must be!
Of course, not as great a feeling as having him to snuggle up to at night. His mom is a lucky lady!!
Please give Vern a smooch from his biggest fan!
What a cutie!
He's going to make some family very happy!
Thanks and I'll pass that
Thanks and I'll pass that smooch on Celine :)
