Grain Free Salmon food change -
Submitted by RARett on October 16, 2011 - 12:56pmOk, so we thought we had grain free food but we didnt, so we got some Salmon from Blue Buffalo - Gizmo seems to like it, but WOW ! the smells !
The food in the food bin smells about as bad as my fishing boat did on a hot July day ! and we won't even talk about what is coming out of Gizmo - its like World War 1, 'GAS ! ! ! ! !' but we dont have any Gas Masks ! LOL
We are hoping this will pass once she gets used to the food - if not.. we will Definately have to try something else ! *gag* Peeee EWWWWW

Smells
The worse was the bad breath. Fish seems to hang in there.
Maybe the gas will improve, Buddy and Brother didn't do too well on the fish diet cause of the gas.

Two of my guys are on grain free salmon and...
no gas no bad breath. We buy the Natures Domain brand at Costco, cheaper than TOTW and very similar.

swear, one time Meaty let out such a HORRIBLE "air biscuit" in the car, I was SURE he had pooped.....nope! (thank goodnesss!) But OMG,
the smell! Meaty didn't do well on The Blue Buffalo or the Royal Canin or The Bil Jak, but I can't blame his deadly air biscuits on any particular food, though.....I think it happens when Daddy is too generous w/ treats!

Meaty on FISH-BASED ONLY, no grain, no corn, etc. We had a choice of only two===Taste of the Wild Salmon or Purina Pure Selects....
oh, the STENCH! LOL! Howeverrrr, Meaty's ears and SKIN have been soooo much better since switching!!!

The 1st weekend we got Gizmo, we had to take her to PetSmart to pick out some toys - it was October (almost 1 year ago today!) so the windows were up in the car... when *sniff* *sniff* (Questionable look on my face) I turn to Dottie, who starts blaming ME for the, ahhh Air Biscuit...and then we both realized, it was Gizmo... oh tears to our eyes ! to the point a few minutes later we came across a dead skunk and we were HAPPY for the Fresh Air ! LOL
