Hi everyone, I have a 3 yr old bully that has been peeing in the house. It seems like he can't hold it, and he is not doing this on purpose. I really think he can't control it. When he does pee he dosent seem like he is in pain, no bad smell, and no blood. Everything I have been reading says those are some symptoms. A little background on Mack.... He has both food and environmental allergies, has been on tendril p for a year and for the last three months has been on Atopica ( one a day for 2 months and now 1 every other day). He is also eating frozen raw food for years. I have a vet appt on sat, but was wondering if anyone else had symptoms like this, and if this sounds like it could be a uti even with none of the other symptoms. Also for the last few weeks he seems scared to go outside to do his business, so thinking it may be because it does hurt him s little to go, but he dosent cry or anything. Thanks so much for any responses.
My first guess is a UTI
These bullies are so tough that it can take them a looooong time to show us they are in pain (which is a bummer for us owners). My Stella had chronic bladder infections and, often, I wouldn't even know she wasn't feeling well until she actually started peeing blood!
Good luck on Saturday!
If he is on Temaril P
that has prednisone in it. Prednisone makes them drink and Pee ALOT. You said he's been on it a year though? Hmmm
He was on temeril for a year,
He was on temeril for a year, but has been off now for about 4 months. Now we've gone to Atopica due to his severe allergies. I was just hoping it was a uti and not something like liver or kidneys.
I could have written this same post!
When James was on prednisone it m ade him pee a lot. He couldnt help it. Couple that with increased water intake because its so hot and you can call my carpet ruined.
