Hello everyone . I have a 1 year old male english bulldog . I was thinking about getting a female pup for companionship . Sometimes he gets lonely when I leave for work and I know he gets bored . I know it will be a lot of work . But I want to know peoples thoughts on adding another dog

DO it....
I will always have 2 dogs....(I have 3 now) We got our Bully and I had a bullmastiff - then six months later I went back to the breeder and got my bullies half sister... they stick together and fight like brother and sister -
Just be careful introducing them... maybe keep them separated for a while... let them see each other a little bit each day... Good Luck!!! post pics when you get (him or her??)
double trouble :)
We just got a female puppy, 8 weeks old. Our male is 2 years old and from the same breeder. It's only been three days but the new puppy is already crate trained, walking on the leash, and sitting politely to be fed. I think this dog will be much easier, but the hard part is going to be draining our older dog's energy, since he is high-energy. The puppy can only go on short walks at a slow pace. I'm going to start agility with the older one tonight, so hopefully that will give him some good exercise.

Nice looking dogs
That's good that you found a good breeder . I'm looking to get a pup from this breeder I found and who is reputable . She is expecting a litter by the end of the week . I just hope her pups are healthy . But I do want another bulldog

I have two!
I love having two, for the very reason that they are there for each other when I am gone. I introduce a new puppy to my first bulldog, Otie, and after a little period of time they got along great. Apollo (he was the puppy) is now 7 and I introduced him to Izzy, who was 10 mos. Her energy level really bugged him at first, but now they are great friends.
I say go for it!
We added Sophie when Meaty was 2---they've been PERFECT
together....soo sweet!!! :-) The ONLY thing that was difficult for me (at first) was when Sophie was just a tiny pupp,
and they'd be PLAYING, but it honestly sounded like they were killing eachother----I had to read and talk to many
peeps who told me this is NORMAL.....and of course, they were NOT hurting eachother at all....just PLAY! :-) After
a while, I stopped worrying and just let them play as they liked without cringing and constantly checking for injuries!!!
I hope you have the same outcome......I agree that it's wonder-bull for them to have a companion....!!! :)
Our sweet Archimedes "MEATY" Bones (or as we say...boneSHHH!) ---born 11/28/08---- our first bullllyyyy!!!
