Food Protest while in heat?
Submitted by Redflame on April 16, 2012 - 3:43pmSo Kippah has eaten about half a cup of kibble since she went into heat Saturday morning. Although she will gladly take watermelon, hot dogs, chicken or potato chips from your hand. (we were desperate this weekend to make her quit being such a crab at the park, and hot dog pieces and chips did the trick-----I know, bad parents!)
I know she is all out of sorts, and man oh man is she bitchy. But should I peek her interest with some burger and rice, or maybe some good quality canned food? I am just thinking something in her tummy might make her a little less irritable---it works for me afterall LOL

Mine never do food protests
even Kohl kept eating during the last 3 wks with Ester being in season and it is very common for males to go off their food when a bitch is in season. I just have porkers I guess.
I see nothing wrong with feeding her a little something extra to entice her. Maybe she has cramps :(
I asked my vet about the cramps...
He said he didn't know if they did get them, but they always seem grumpy and off sorts when in heat so I wouldn't doubt it.
