Hi-
Looking to try a new food with Molly. She has been on TOTW Pacific Stream (salmon). I want to switch to figure out if it is causing allergy symptoms or if they are more environmental. I'm looking for another grain free food that doesn't have a high protein, which gets a little tricky! Should I just try one of the other TOTW proteins? They make a lamb version that is a good protein level. Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

lesser known brand, but shes doing great on it
we are having good luck on AvoDerm, but the vet said not to keep her on it IF she looks like she is getting 'routund'. It is 23% protien, grain free, and has avacado for coat....a little higher in fat that Lamb and Rice. She did not care for the salmon, that is why we switched. She is not gaining too fast (still a puppy) and her coat is fantastic. This is carried by Petsmart

How long has she been on ToTW ?
Has it been a whole season? Did the alergies start when she switched over ? Personally I try to stay in the same 'family' of products, if you like ToTW and its available, I'd stick to it, but try Lamb (Or whichever) I have found a huge decrease in Gizmo's gas since we made the switch to ToTW Salmon vice Blue Buffalo Wilderness' Salmon.
Allergies are so tough to figure out, I'm half wanting to get Gizmo Allergy check (Blood Test) just to know 'She is DEFINATELY allergic to (Insert Allergin here) for future reference - she just hit the 2 year old mark, so from what I can tell, she should be about old enough to get an idea without wasting money.

Molly started on this food
Molly started on this food when she was still with the breeder. I briefly switched her over to Wellness Puppy but it didn't go so well.
I really don't know if she has food allergies. Basically, she always has watery eyes and a clear runny nose on and off throughout the day, she sheds a lot and now has flaky skin, and she will sometimes chew her back paws. Her poop is sometimes soft and sometimes fine, and she's had a couple other gastrointestinal episodes (bad diarrhea and vomitting). I can't tell if it is seasonal because the weather here (in NY) has been out of the ordinary. Today it was 75. I guess it doesn't hurt to switch and see if I notice a change. Thanks!
"chew her back paws" do they smell of 'corn chips' ?
I learned this here :) If you smell 'corn chips' type odor, its probably Yeast - Gizmo would lick at hers ALOT, and we 'de-yeasted' her LOL for lack of better verbage - Cleaned her bedding, then we starting to 'pickle' her toes :) a solution of Apple Cider Vinegar, Hydrogen Peroxide, and Water :)
1 part ACV
1 part Peroxide
2 - 3 parts Water.
basically what we do, is put the solution in a bowl (we have a HUGE Measuring cup that has a flat bottom, and it holds like 8 cups of liquids!) put a foot in, and massage it (move the fur around, so that the solution gets all around) lift a paw and put it right on a towel - Next Paw - repeat.
Some people warn about the Peroxide, if they scamper away, it could 'bleach' carpets or furnature, but I guess our solution isnt that strong (if anything I add more Vinegar)
You need to do this 2 or 3 times a day for the 1st few days (to kill the Yeast colony) and then once its under control, we just do it as needed or when we think she 'needs pickled' gotta love that ACV smell in BED! LOL
