flea prevention

I had been using Sentinal but it is not availble at this time. It is a combination Flea and Heartworm pill and Matilda never had any side effects from it. I tried a product call Certifect and OMG the stuff smelled so strong that Matilda's eyes started itching. The stuff was oily and ran down her coat. It scared me and I put her in the tub and washed it all off fast. Stupid of me, not to read some reviews first, I trusted the vet's office recommendation. The reviews on Amazon were awful and scared me badly. Now, I'm back to square one. I don't know what to use for flea prevention or Heartworm prevention. What do you use?????

I tried the Certifect as well and it stinks!

What an odor! When I can find it I stick with Advantage. I give Heartguard along with it. I just haven't found anything else that stops the fleas as well as Advantage. You can buy it at most Petsmarts or online.

I use Trifexis. It's a flea/HW/parasite combo pill

but if you live in a "tick zone" you need a back up for that.  I have "heard" it works for ticks...but have never had any experience.  Farley just eats his up, I have to hide Ida's in peanut butter or she spits it out.

we use Revolution

Not sure if it's a Canadian product but we've had no issues with it. Doesn't smell and doesn't seem to bother Tucker. It's also a heartworm & flea preventative. Good luck!

forgot to say....

it goes on his skin/coat, not a pill. I used to have a dog who seemed to be a magnet for fleas and so I have super flea paranoia.

I think everyone would agree, fleas suck!
