First Week with Otis

Hi, I am new to the forum.

My boyfriend and I got our new puppy Otis from the breeder last Friday after waiting 8 long weeks to bring him home!

I thought the 8 weeks we spent anxiously awaiting the arrival of Otis were the longest weeks of my life.

That was until we actually brought Otis home.....And now this week is officially the longest week of my life!!!!!!!!

Between all the house/crate training, the constant supervision, and his 3 AM whining, I feel like a walking zombie!

Thank God for coffee :-)

So don't let that precious face fool you.....

Welcome home Otis! We love you already!

WOW he is beautiful!!

and he will be worth all the sleepness nights.  Before you know it, he will be a year old and completely house trained and past that "puppy stage".  Enjoy now while you can because it flies by!!

We are right there w/ you but 2am wake ups ;)

Hershey is 13 weeks, and we feel your pain :) and lack of sleep ! :)

He is gorgeous!

Such a big boy. I am also with you as Phoebe is 11 weeks. Her saving grace is that she sleeps from 10-6 every night. You are so right about the constant supervision, nipping etc. But such cute little critters! Love her to pieces as you do your boy.

What's your secret?!

10-6 every night!!! That's my new goal. Right now he wakes up ready to play about every 2-3 hours.

I know the feeling

Puppies are such a challenge. They're all cute and innocent looking but them you get them home! Tucker wasn't whiny boy and he never had accidents because the breeder had already begun training him but....... he was a maniac. I think I still have scars on my legs and hands. He was a horrible nipper.  Up at 5am, crazy all day and would zonk out at about 10pm.

I have to say though that all that crazy puppy energy calmed down and he is a snuggable, loveable bully now. All that frustration and stress and exhaustion is completely worth it!

Congrats

Puppies are hard work, but well worth it.  Just look at them while they are sleeping and eveything else just disappears.  Good luck!

Aww...

Wow, he is adorable! Everyone is getting puppies now-a-days, lol... Anyway, the sleepless nights continue until about 4 months unfortunately, but Raleigh (my girl) is 5 1/2 months now and actually sleeps from 10 to 6 without having an accident.  So yeah, drink lots of coffee and enjoy this time you have with them as puppies as they grow up so fast.  I've had Raleigh for 2 1/2 months now and she's gained 15 pounds!
