Menorahs can come in all sorts of styles, depending on that the artist who designs them decids. There are no rules except there should be something for eight candles and an extra one for the candle that you light the others with. A menorah is a stylized Tree of Life. But, I've seen baseball menorahs and bulldogs menorahs, too. This one is from South Africa.

Now I understand when you say, lighting of the 5th candle, and I see 6 candles lit, it makes sense now - Sorry when it comes to the Jewish traditions I'm just hopelessly loss.
