Please feel free to caption this picture. I call it his "WTH is going on?!" look =P
He did not appreciate what we were doing obviously lol The harness we had for him made him so uncomfortable. He couldn't lay down the way he wanted to and he stood up the whole time. He even fell asleep standing up with his chin rested on the cover wall =P But overall he handled the 18 hour car ride very well.
The dogs at mom's house did not get along with him at all. Introducing them at the park across the street did not help much but they did allow him to walk into the house with them. Other than this, they constantly growed or nipped at him. It did not even phase him. But I felt bad because all he wanted to do was play with them =\
And he was so excited to finally be home. When we pulled off on our exit he kept running back and forth in the back seat and practically jumped over the cover wall into the front. I think he could smell we were close to home. It was so cute :)

When we got Brewer I decided
When we got Brewer I decided to get him a seat belt harness also. But we ran into the same problem with him not being able to lay down or rest. We stoped using it. We also have a seat cover/ seat seperater and we taught Brewer that he is not allow to go into the front seat. We travel alot and just didn't think is was nice of us to keep using the harness that hurt him. And he got tangled in it also. It is up to you, but I wouldn't use the harness if he is not able to lay down or relax. Just my opinion tho.
Good to know...
that you are not satisfied with the harnesses. I have often considered getting one for my bully over the years. Instead my dog always travels in her crate on the floorin the back seat of the truck or the back of the car hatch space. I use the seat belts to tie it down and it has worked beautifully. My former and current dogs, thankfully, have always been great travellers and love their crates so they are more than happy to be in there with toys and the odd treat.
Aww Fatboy!
You look so cute! I'm sorry those dogs were mean to you :(
And yes, Zimmer knows when we turn the corner he's going home!!
