Ok, so I found out the hard way how much Sophia likes me. Or doesn't!
I always haul Sophie with me when I drive down to feedhorses in the mornings and evenings. She gets in my truck and promptly passes out in the air conditioning and stays that way until I get out to close and lock the barn drive gate after we are done. Then she climbs in my lap for the lift out and into the house when I park. Last night I put her in the truck with the engine running to keep her cool while I loaded feed and took care of a few things. I went to open the drivers side door to head to the barn....and it was LOCKED! With Sophie in her seat. Sound asleep. Ignoring me. I finally got her to come to the drivers side, where she curled into a ball and fell asleep again on the seat. I woke her up a few times trying to get her to step up onto the arm rest of the door to pop the lock, but this was the look I got...if she even woke up long enough to look at me!!
I finally got a locksmith after about 2 hours (we live VERY rural in Texas, took a while for the guy to get here!), and Sophia was released from her air conditioning induced doggie coma. Note to self: ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW BEFORE YOU SHUT THE DOOR. EVER AGAIN. Or it will cost me another hundred bucks to get the dog out!

Thank goodness the AC was on!
Sorry she wasn't much help but at least she was ok!
Sophie sez, "What's the problem, mom?!"
Seriously, she's cool and comfy and you keep banging on the window to wake her up. PLUS you think you're going to make her work by unlocking the door (which YOU locked, by the way). Get real mom!
Sophie, your look says it all.
P.S. Glad the AC was on, otherwise you would have had to break the window to get her out. Silly girl!!!
Ohh myyy HAHAHA
Poor Sophia or may I say poor mom! I agree I am glad the air conditioner was on!

I would be in the worst panic
Happy to hear all is well.
Oh my!
I think this is just one of those things you have to laugh at and something you will probably NEVER forget. I'd be telling that story to everyone forever!

glad she was in a cool vehicle...
still must have been nerve-wracking
Or put a spare set of keys in the Barn ;)
GREAT Story! just glad that she was in the A/C and she was nice and cool! If not, I bet you'd be having some help from the horses to kick in a window to get her out! :)
