They keep adding brands on to the dry dog food list... so better keep on checking it until this thing gets fixed! They are including some cat foods too! There are alot of different brands on the list now, including wellness, and kirkland, etc.. I was pretty shocked when I went to go buy dogfood today... I checked on my phone to be sure and the list like doubled since just last week!
My husband bought some cheap chicken strips from safeway... and i saw that they were made in china. (happy hips)... i looked it up and they had been recalled too... how do people still sell stuff on recall?? is it legal?
sincerely, christine
They keep on adding more
Yeah I was surprised to see more dog foods on the recall list. We just started adding the Natural Balance Alpha fish formula food in with our puppy food. So luckily that hasn't been added to the list. Hope they get all the foods they need to recalled.

Chicken Jerky BIG no no - due to all the recalls
I wont touch the stuff - because true jerky isnt cooked, its just 'dried' - and ALOT of it is coming out of China too. !

I honestly have no idea what I'm going to switch Onslow to. He is on TOTW> :(
We need to remember that this is a sickness affecting humans....
But so far our animals have not been included in the sickness. Thank goodness!!!
But I am carefully watching my recall list and making sure my food is safe, for feeding to the dogs as well as handling myself.

My problem is I cant find it in the stores anymore
n/m
Yes, I have heard that.
It is such a bad thing for humans, but now everyone is having to change foods on a very short notice and it is wreaking havoc on our pets! I am glad I feed a Purina brand that is easily purchased at about any retailer and is not manufactured by Diamond. I wish you the best Girlfriend, dang, I hope this is over soon.

LOL food is always a pain
he's done so well on it, too. Gonna have to stick with grain free. The hunt is on.
Good luck with it all Lisa.
I wish you the best in finding a good food for your boy. I know he has had so much trouble and was doing so well on TOTW. Dang, wish it wasn't like this. If you get really stuck, Texas isn't on the recall list....I will ship food to you if I have to!

Thanks Amy
thats very sweet. I have one small bag left - we should be ok. Just hope I can find something similar that he does well on =) Smooches to Sophia!
Lisa - If you can find it try "Now"
made by PetCurean. Of course depending on what he is allergic too.
My sister just got Cleo allergy tested and Pine is the highest on the list, 1-6 scale she is a 3. Then below that was chicken and lamb, she has been feeding her some kind of organic chicken food.
I will thanks!
I've heard of that before.
BUT !!!!
This is cooked / processed dog food that is not raw that is making people sick. So why is that? The thing people don't like with raw is just that...it is raw. The dog food companies will say oh my you can't feed raw because of samonella. So why is there samonella in a cooked/overly processed product?
The problem is Diamond manufacturing quality control. I would never feed anything that Diamond is manufacturing. The company has problems (like killing dogs).
Turkey Jerky
the problem with this was stuff made in China had that Melamine stuff that killed the dogs.
There are products that are made in the good ole USA that are great treats.
Holistic Select
I have been feeding Ratliff HolisticSelect since I got him, and it is what the rescue had him on. My vet swears by it, and i have never seen it on a recall list. I feed him the White fish blend because its great for dogs with skin / food allergies. The food has oatmeal in it which is great for their coat.
The only downside to it is that there arent many food stores that carry it because its not highly bought. It tends to be on the more pricey side. I pay about 60 dollars for a large bag of it, but it lasts us forever. Its a really filling food. The bag recommends a cup to 2 cups for ratty (who is 56lbs) but i only give him a cup and he rarely eats all of it in one go. After Petc* quit carring it here in TX, i tracked it down at a local feed store. They swore to always have it or atleast order it for me if they were out for no additional costs as alot of vets send people there for it.
You might want to give it a go if you can locate it in your area. All natural ingrediants, no by-products or fillers either. i LOVE the stuff! They make treats, and wet food as well.

my dogs are on california natural senior chicken and rice...
so far so good.. not on the list...I am thinking of adding acana senior to the mix too for more nutrients and to try for a little bit of firmer poo... but i do feed some wet along with their dryfood... i use wellness and natural balance wet.. I am scared that it will just be a matter of time before the wet food goes on the list too!
yes, I told my husband don't buy any junky cheap treats, and to always look to see where its made. I wouldn't trust anything made in china or any other random country because you know chances are if they already have issues having basic human rights or running water/plumbing system, then I highly doubt that they would have high standards in a their dog food factories!! btw.. I am chinese too!!!!
