Dog Food

I am going to switch my bulldogs food and was looking for some input. I have read that bulldogs do better on a low protien diet..does anyone know if that is true, and if it is- why? I want to put him back onto Orijen fish. He was on Orijen from about 8weeks-3months but he was having looser stools so I took him off it. I know its a great food, and I wanted to give it another try..possibly with some probiotics and see how that goes. The probiotics said they would help with gas, loose stools, and yeast (he has the the marks of that near his eyes)..those are all things he could use help with! Anyways, if anybody feeds there bully orijen, or uses probiotics and could reccomend a brand it would be greatly appreciated!

We like Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream which is...

salmon and sweet potato.  They also make a grain free lamb.  They are both 25 % protein which is a good level for our guys.  If you go back to the one that made him a little loose, try putting a heaping tablespoon of regular canned pumpkin on each meal, that helps to firm them up.

It's different for each bullie. The only dog food I've had true

success with is Petcurean NOW! Grain Free adult formula.  I thought my Fatboy was just a picky eater when he was on Eukanuba, Orijen Salmon, Blue Wilderness Salmon, and Taste of the Wild Salmon....but in reality he wasn't.  He didn't like the way any of them tasted and/or they upset his tummy.  Not to mention the increased water/tear stains, constipation, hard stools and GAS....*ugh*

He actually wants to eat the new stuff.  Something I've NEVER seen in him since we've brought him home.  He now has perfect stools (weird to say I know), virtually no water/tear issues, and the gas is gone.  Well not entirely gone.  It only gets worse when he's breathing a lot more or we give him his treats.  I'm quite happy with Petcurean, and so is Fatboy  :)

Thanks for all the feedback! I appreciate it.. I'm exploring all options and was wondering if anyone supplements their dogs diet with raw meats or eggs? Thanks again!
