Tucker does thing weird thing with things that are fuzzy more specifically, fuzzy or fleece blankets. He holds it in his paws, closes his eyes and sucks away. He doesn't chew or rip it just sucks on it like it's a pacifier! He usually does it at night or when he's starting to relax. I try not to let him do it too much because his chin gets a bit red and raw if the blanket is rough.
Below is a pic of him in action with a baby blanket he's had since he was a month old. We brought it with us to the breeder when we first met him. I'm surprised it's still together after 2 years. Now he's sleeping with it between his arms like a baby with it's blanket!
Tucker is one crazy boy :o Does anyone else's dog do this??

Farley does not suck on his "woobie"
but he has one blanket that came from the breeder with him that he sleeps with every night. He makes it like a little pillow. He gets very upset when it's being washed too. He destroys all other blankets we put in the cage but this one inparticular.

Yep. There are a couple
Yep. There are a couple stuffed animals Oliver will do this with but his favorite is his Ikea bulldog. He will suckle one of the paws or sometimes he james the whole head in his mouth. He also does this right before bedtime.
oh yes, we call it kibby's "nom..nom..nom" trance!
she gets a stuffed animal... finds a good spot, usually the face, nose, ears.. and starts chewing , sucking, making these nom...nom..nom..nom.. sounds... sometimes almost purring.. and then her eyes roll back when she starts getting into it.... she looks creepy sometimes doing it, but she loves it! she does it until she comprimises the fabric so she can get the sqeaky out to chew on it.
sincerely, christine
LOL! Sweet...yes
PollyAnna does not but little Olive is my woobie baby!

Not my bully, but my sister's pug
Loved to suck on her plush disk toy. My sis and her hubby thought it was gross sounding, so they'd take it away from her :(

My Boston does
My male Boston does this. When we brought him home we had a hard time getting him to settle down in the evenings, so I took a little baby blanket and I would wrap him up in it like a swaddle and hold him on my lap till he calmed down. After a week or so of that then he would just go to his blanket (we called swaddle). Then he started sucking on it, any fleece type blanket is swaddle for him now. Any time he is excited he goes to it and calms himself down.
The problem is Kippah watches him and trys to mimic him, and she does more of a suck/chew..so I have a few things with holes in them. I really think she only does it to piss him off....it is often her mission of the day.

my arfchie used to that w/his kong ball...looked like a pacifier...but it sorta phased out
Tonks does that, too!
Two years ago, in anticipation of bringing home our new bully puppy, I bought a big, fuzzy, pink stuffed piggy for him. He's two now, and if we quit playing with Tonks before Tonks is ready to quit playing, he "self-soothes" by sucking on Piggy! If his feelings get hurt (like when we play with the cat!), he immediately pulls Piggy out of the toybox and lays there sucking on Piggy and watching t.v. He's a hoot!
