So I got home on Friday afternoon after work and there were a few people milling about with a couple on their phones. Everyone looked a bit discombobulated (for lack of a better description)...I looked at one of my neighbors with a "What is going on?" look and he said that one of the transformers had JUST blow up and they had all rushed over to put out the fires themselves. I immediately ran inside to check on Winston, who was completely freaked the F out. His eyes were the size of dinner plates, he was shaking uncontrollably and he had puked on the ottoman. I felt so terrible for him! I'm just so happy I got there about 10 minutes after it happened. As we left the fire firefighters were pulling up and setting up a "perimeter" around the transformer. Below are a couple pics of the area...the black isn't dirt, but the scored areas that were put out by my neighbors. It even looks like the bottom portion of the pole was burned a bit. To give a bit of perspective...the transformer is about 15 feet diagonally south from my front door. If you've ever hear one explode you know how loud and scary they can be...poor Winston.
Here he is on Saturday modeling his new Halloween collar. :) As you can see he recovered from the traumatic experience just fine:

Come up to the nice quiet setting of Delaware, the only noise we have is
VRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM
Dang NASCAR was in town all weekend, we all just hide out for 2 weekends a year, away from the Drunks and idiots... we sit back and watch it INDOORS :) Gizmo gets dizzy on the short tracks, watching the cars go round and round and round...and turn left :P
I'm glad Winston is fine

Scary!
Glad no one was hurt. We had a transformer blow right in front of my house & it did some serious damage to the cars. And yes the sound was very loud & I remember how scared Zimmer was. Glad Winston recovered quick!
