Knock on wood, so far so good. Nights are getting better with Chester sleeping a bit better. Today my husband is staying with him all day as I had to show up at my very understanding work place.
UC Davis called me each day to inquire about his progress and they said that with bulldogs it is more iffy as they have such tolerance for pain , things can go terribly wrong and they will not tell you, just when it is literally too late. So we are watching like crazy.
Chester, even in his very dire state never ceases to amuse me.
I covered the mattress with a comforter, mind you it is a bit shorter as I simply ran out of clean and dry ones. So at the very top it was about 5 inches short to the top and not protected. I figured I covered most of the bases, I put waterproof pads all over the place, baby comforters on top of the said comforter for easy switch, you name it. I felt so smug and smart. So this morning I was waiting for Chester to snuggle next to me and would you know it, the whole queen size somehow eluded him, he had to pick THAT one spot that was not protected and put his unprotected, stinky butt right in that spot. I had a panic attack and covered his butt quickly with a cloth dipper, but this is so like Chester, never a dull moment. My husband walked in on that and just laughed his head off as he saw him totally content in that one spot and me trying to figure out how to protect clean mattress pad from gutter butt.
Oh well, as long as he heals, I am fine with any antics and punishment he wants to impose on me.
