Chester is trying to heal at home.  He is either snuggled right next to him mommy or daddy and is quite unhappy when moved.  We have to do it to change bedding if he soils it (side-effects of surgery is that he does not control much his bowels yet very well) and I have to keep soft cloth covering his bottom all the time.  Poor baby's bottom is almost raw from being wiped with baby wipes.  I freaked out this afternoon as I saw some blood there, but I am trying to stay calm, he is acting normal.  Again, this is critical period and things can go terribly wrong.  He is interested in food, he was very into it at lunch and is trying to walk outside.  We help him out and keep him move as little as possible, but he insists on some activity to get his bowels moving.  He is a sweetie and if we did not know or if not for issues with tummy, you would not know he went through such a difficult surgery.
I am so happy to have him at home, but I understand now why ICU is so costly :-)  It is hard work to watch what is going on, clean, attend and ensure comfort and stay on top of medications.  I have ran laundry all day long today and it is not over.  But that is OK as long as Chester gets well, I am still freaking out at each and every grant.
I guess the next week is going to be an emotional torture :-(
Please keep my boy in your prayers so that he heals, if you can spare just a bit more of your good will.
