Wow, such good news. Thank god the ED vets acted as soon as they did to intubate him and were able to find a surgeon to take care of the problem. Im sure Chesters ready to head home. I wonder if hes still going to snore a lot?

I was a little nervous because I could tell the vet there wasn't totally familiar with bulldogs although when Chester was in crisis, he did intubate him and keep him sedated and alive until morning. They were trying to find a surgical group that was open on Sunday and finally sent us to Sonora Veterinary at Cactus and 40th Street. Dr Gilson was on this morning and he was just wonderful, the first thing he said to us after he saw Chester was ' this isn't as bad as it looks' and the weight of the world was taken off of us. He's the one that did the surgery and I can't recommend them enough.

I am so glad you found them! I will keep them in mind for future reference. My brother is just off 40th above Greenway, I will see if they have head of them. They are having health issues with their Beagle....

Angels come in all forms, looks like you had two vets with that title, one that knew enough to triage until he could get a specialist, and a soecialist that knew what to really look for.
Peace be to you, so glad that you had answers just in the nick of time
I am so happy for your family. We had a similar situation with our Bella. My vet had to put her under and tube her also. He then sent her in an suv with 2 vet techs pumping oxygen in her to university of pa. They did not do the surgery. We never woke her up. They thought it was larynx
cancer. Now I wonder If it was a polyp. I am thrilled for Chester that he is recovering. He is a beautiful boy.
Great news...Give Chester lots of smooches.
