Bulldogs World

They released him today and I drove with him home as if with rotten egg.  He slept all the way and just woke up once in a while to check if I was next to him.
He is resting comfortably on brand new purchased queen size tempurepedic 3 inch pad with whole bunch of stuff on top of it and quite liking soft heaven around him.
He is sleeping mostly as he is still pretty much drugged and will stay that way for a while.  But he sure seem comfortable next to me :-)
We are watching for any signs of distress, for anything that would indicate problems.  This is day three after the surgery and normally problems may start right around now so we are with him 24/7 watching, praying, hoping...
ICU vet indicated that with whole probability I will be in touch with oncologist after pathology results come back mid-next week.  They expect them to be bad (they clearly saw cancer), so we could discuss further action.  They took out whatever they could but if margins are dirty (and this was a very difficult surgery), cancer would come back.  But that is in the future, right now boy needs to heal and survive the next week.  We will deal with everything one day at a time.
Apparently he was quite a ham last night, they had another dog in ICU and at some point needed to attend to him.  So Chester was left for a minute or so without EVERYONE cooing and petting him.  He did not like that.  Apparently he barked his drugged head off to let them know that if he is paying for prime accommodations, he should be getting ALL attention.
They told me they fell in love with him and did not want him go but knew he will recover faster with me. 
I am just glad to be home after 5 days vigil in the hospital.
Please keep my boy in your prayers just a bit longer, we pray for no complications so we can post some smiling pictures.
