Bully Limping lately

Hey everyone, I have booked an appointment with our vet for this weekend, but thought I would come on here to see if anyone has experienced it before.. Over the past few days we have noticed Ernie has been limping slightly while walking, almost as if he doesn't want to put pressure on the one side. He hasn't done anything too crazy lately and I have checked out his paws and pushed on different spots on it and around his joints and he doesn't flinch at all as to say it hurts... I have read online that it could be growing pains but am still unsure if that is it... If anyone has had an experience in the past I would love to hear what it was for you and how long it lasted... I will still be taking him to the vet on the weekend just to be sure, but anything educational is welcome!!! Thanks again!!

We had a boy a few years ago that...

limped on his front leg.  We tried to keep him quiet and he would get a little better and then he would start limping more again.  This lasted for a couple of months and our vet never did figure out what it was from.  If it is growing pains, it's best to feed a lower protein food (25% or thereabouts.)  Try to limit activity as much as you can.  I would also start giving him glucosomine/condroitin to help strengthen his cartelege, etc.

I second the glucosomine/condroitin

It wasn't my bully that was limping but my boxer.  Crazy thing was he started limping one morning, holding back left leg totally off floor, I did the same thing as you, pushed, pulled, poked and prodded, no sign of soreness.  That evening, he was running and jumping like always, next morning same thing, back leg in the air, not putting any pressure on foot, that evening, running and jumping fine.  Next morning, .eg up in the air again, that evening, running and jumping until he came into eat, then leg came up, next morning off to the vets.  They did flexion test and was sure that he had torn his ACL, I asked for xrays before taking him to the vet school in WA.  Xrays came back okay.  Put him on Move Free, a glucosomine/condroitin pill, and he's never limped since.  The vet did say the boxer did show the start or arthritis  in his left hip and suggested he lose about 5 pounds, he wasn't fat at 85 pounds but she thought less weight might help the hip, so I put him on Solid Gold Holistic for weight management.

Having the vet check him is a good idea, here's hoping Ernie is fine.

A few months ago Sissy went

A few months ago Sissy went through something similar. She's by no means active anyhow but one day she started limping pretty noticeably. I kept an eye on it for a day or so before scheduling a vet appt that week. By time we got to the vet she was already showing improvement but I wanted to get her checked out to be safe. My vet poked, prodded and felt for any sign of problem and what did Sissy do to indicate where it hurt? She fell asleep on the floor during the exam LOL! The problem did clear up on its own but we still have no clue what she did.
