Angus had his yearly check-up today (he is 15 months old) and he weighs in at 40.6 lbs. He has been at that weight for about 3 months now. The vet said it is a healthy weight, which I agree with, but still wonder if he will still grow some more ... in particular his head. He doesn't seem to have the big bulldog head. Vet said we are doing all the right things (feeding, exercise etc.) and not to worry. But I thought I would solicit thoughts from you all -- Do I just have a small bullie :-)
not all bullies will look the
not all bullies will look the same in age and height...
archie was almost 3 and he weighed 57lbs...although
he looked stocky he was quite healthy...for his age and size...
angus is adorable and looks fit!!!
smoochies the scrunchy face
They are all different
He looks good to me. My PollyAnna is 70 pounds and leggy, but Olive is 10 months old today and she is 40 pounds and 12 inches high. She is stocky and short while PollyAnna is taller and heavier. Both a healthy size.

Onslow didn't fully fill out until he was around 3
head and chest got bigger up until that time. He's a handsome boy either way!
40 lbs at 15 months
is a small guy. You would know more about how he will mature from his lines (pedigree), parents. He will continue to mature until he is around 3 yrs old depending again on his lines. Mature means bulking up, filling out and heads do mature. Dogs (males) should be about 50-55 lbs and most males we show will weight more then that, but there is a push to get back to the more standard size. The dogs pedigree and parents has everything to do with how your guy will mature.
Farley was almost 3 when he really became a "bulldog"
He would go through these weird growth spurts, big head, little head, big chest, little chest....finally he got the big head and wide chest and stopped growing. He is about 60 pounds at his heaviest but has thinned a lot since moving to Texas.
Mature Bulldog
Thank you!
I knew I could depend on you guys! Thank you for all your responses. I love my Angus no matter what for sure; but I feel better knowing he's not unusually small and still may grow into himself!!
Is he neutered?
I never have my males neutered early. You will not get that big male head if you do. I don't like seeing dogs with bitchy heads.
Angus is adorable btw.
He is still young. He just needs time to mature. Good luck with him and enjoy your time together.
you have a HANDSOME bully!
Thats for sure! James is going on two years and still filling out- his dad did not become the monster he is today until after 3 years old! But consider yourself lucky- the less weight your bully carries, the less stress on his hips- keep him trim as long as he cooperates! he is gorgeous!
