Could be a couple of things

The first thing that comes to mind is a staph infection.  These can get really bad, so you'd have to have him checked by your vet.  He'll give you antibiotics that should clear it up - it can take some time though.

Or, less complicated than that, could he be getting bug bites?  Do you have him outside in an area where there are deer flies or horse flies?  They'll take a chunk right out of you.  Do you see blood, like with a bite, or just the scabs?

I'd check the rest of his body really carefully and, if you see any other scabs, I'd definitely bring him in for a check-up.  Bullies can have all sorts of skin issues that are a real pain.

Keep us posted!

How old is he?

If he's a pup, it's possible he has demodex (mites/mange).  That would need treatment from a vet.  Otherwise, it could be staph or an allergic reaction as Celine said.  Food can cause skin problems, a lot of us feed grain free food and that seems to help.

Agree with both the girls

have the vet do a scraping on him to rule out demodex if he is young.  Good luck.

Have him checked for demodex

It's a type of mange that's pretty common with puppies.  Mine had it twice in her first year!  I can be treated though, so don't panic.  But it does HAVE to be treated by your vet or it can do some major dammage.

If it isn't demodex, then your vet should be able to help you identify what else it could be:  food allergy, environmental allergy, bug bites, staph...

Probably best if you  have a vet who's used to working with bulldogs; our pups are "special" and a regular vet, even a good one, doesn't always necessarily understand all their little quirks.  There is a list of bully vets on the home page.

Like I said, please keep us posted.  We are always interested in progress reports.

Yes, he's at the right age for demodex...

they can tell by doing a simple skin scraping and looking at it under a microscope.  If there are a certain amount of mites present, they will treat it.  Also, if he has it, you can boost his immune system by giving him one pet tab daily, one 500 mg ester C, one 25 zinc and one vit E capsule.  The better his immune system, the better he can fight it off.  Pups often get this from the stress of teething, vaccines, and rehoming.

Ok thank you I will have to

Ok thank you I will have to try that. Also does anybody know how much the normal price is for a scraping??

The scraping itself isn't expensive...

he will have to be treated though, not sure how much those meds are but if he has demodex, it's important to do the whole cycle of meds.

The invermectin isn't

cheap.  I think we paid like $80 every other week.  But if it is demodex there is no other choice.  You have to do it.

Yup, what they said

Not cheap for the Ivermectin (which is what you'll have to use if it is demodex) but there's unfortunately not choice.

What exactly did you buy?

What exactly did you buy? Also we're could I buy it?

been through this

Tucker had demodex once. It was two really small hairless patches that tipped us off. He had one on his shoulder and one on his head. The vet scraped them and showed me the slide.

Thankfully it didn't develop into anything serious because we caught it in time. The vet did proceed to scare the hell out of me, telling me how bad demodex can get.

He was on the Ivermectin for a while and our vet said he may have to give us more. Tucker didn't itch at all but one thing I did notice is that the meds made him a little extra drooly and overall he's not a drooler. Once he was finished the meds the drooling stopped.

Good luck!

That's right, demodex is the worst case scenario

It could be something totally different.  So don't worry unless you have to (a good mantra for a bulldog owner).  Have him checked out and go from there.  The Ivermectin, if that's what you need, has to be prescribed by your vet.
