He even tried to jump on a 10 year old rotti at the dog park today..." im sorry that my pup won't stop humping ur doggie that is sun bathing at the moment"...yikes!!!! One dog owner was laughing and said that this is normal behavior, and it's brucey's own way of saying HI...Hummmmmm...Im happy to say that he hasn't tried to jump on me but my fav pillow is another story..Should i punish this type of behavior?? He also nurses on his fav duck. He sucks and does this paw thing..its cute but makes me wonder if it's a bad habbit..Don't get me wrong Bruce

Dad's (Grand-PAW's) leg, and my poor Dad just didn't know what it was, or what to do. Since Meaty was neutered, I haven't

Brewer used to do the same
Brewer used to do the same thing, but now that he got fixed he stopped. He still nurses his one favorite toy and he is 1 now. I allow it because I assume he is thinking backi to when he was a puppy. We just call the sucking and paw thing sucky puppy. I think its adorable.
how old is Bruce??
Males get too naughty
:(
We discovered the perfect trick to stop the H-Dance
About two months ago Rugby started humping, but only with ME! He wouldn't go for Mike, the shoving off wouldn't work and after discovering severe bruises on my thighs (he doesn't realize his strength) I knew we had to do something. Our breeder recommended that we put coins in a tin can and shake it whenever he attempts to jump on my leg. This did the trick as he HATED the noise and hasn't tried since!
In regards to the "nursing", ever since Rugby has been a puppy he has sucked on both of our arms. It is his comfort and he usually does it at night after dinner. As it calms him and we find it sweet, we have not discouraged him. When he gets older, we most likely will have to wean him, but we like to think that he is still a baby!
The sucking
Onslow does he has a blanket he sucks on. Its like his woobie of sorts. It calms him and he sort of goes into a trance when he is sucking on it. I have never seen a reason to stop it. The humping should stop somewhat when he is old enough to get neutered. Onslow was humping at 9 weeks and the vet didn't even believe me! LOL!
I had a humper too once he was neutered it stopped.
He also still "nurses" on his woobie and when he is super stressed out he likes to curl up on me and suck on my fngers. The big Weirdo. But I don't discourge him, it makes him secure and he relaxes.
