Our Fergie comes from a larger line of bulldogs and currently weighs in at about 75-80 lbs. We just started feeding her Blue Buffalo dog food because we were told how great it is and that she would lose weight. It's just really expensive food! I spare no cost when it comes to my dogs, but I'd like to hear from another bully owner what they think and not a pet store employee trying to sell me the most expensive food.
Does anyone feed or have fed their bully Blue Buffalo? If so, what do you think? And most importantly, did they seem to lose weight?

never used it, but
as far as Blue Buffalo goes i have been using the blue buffalo grain free health treats and rocco adores them...they smell like cookies, i kind of want one lol. I have heard a lot of good things about Blue Buffalo from people here
"Rocco has a spastic wiggle...probally why is nickname is Milkshake"
Blue Buffalo Lamb and Brown Rice here
We've just recently (4 weeks ago) made the switch. Gizmo seems to like it, we havent noticed anything odd or different, except she has recently developed a fetish for her paws (licking them) We arent sure if this is a food switch, allergy or nothing to worry about (yet) They are not raw or anything like that. (Read more on Allergies on the Medical Forum where I talked about Blue Buffalo food.
Last steps taken May 26, 2014 -- Been rolling along ever since . . . .
Fatboy has taken to licking his paws a lot after we switched
to Blue. His tear stains got worse too. I was curious if it's the high protein content.

Blue Buffalo
I have all 5 of my adult bulldogs on Blue Buffalo Chicken and Rice. We tried the lamb and the salmon recipes but they did not do so well on it. I have noticed that following the instructions and ensuring that they do not overfeed is vital as they will get the runs if they overeat. BUT, when they eat the right amount on a regular schedule the poo in my yard is less and easier to pick up (almost hard right away). I LOVE it! It is expensive but i have found it is worth it. I go through a bag about every 5 to 6 days.
I fed Blue Buffalo Limited very successfully.
It is a very good food. It is less expensive than several of the better grain free foods. Go to your local feed stores to find better prices, even Petsmart is less expensive than smaller pet food stores.
I would feed less or use the green bean diet. Good luck!

I feed Fatboy the salmon flavor.
I feed this mainly because he is smaller and could get overweight easily. However I noticed that his tear stains have gotten worse since using it. I tried to switch him out on Taste of the Wild because of the lower protein content, but he started to react badly to it once we were giving him more. So for now it's Blue. I was looking at www.dogfoodanalysis.com and read up on some low protein brands there. Grain free is important (as I'm sure you know) but it's hard finding that right balance :)

thank you
Thank you so much for your feedback. It's been very helpful. Poor Fergie is such a big girl and I LOVE that about her, but I'm so worried about her hips and general health! Fatboy is beautiful. I love his half and half coloring around his eyes. How old was he when you did his eye lift surgery? His eyes look amazing. One of Fergie's alias' is Stinky, also. :-)
Thanks again for your thoughts.

Hazel's been on the Healthy
Hazel's been on the Healthy Weight formula b/c she was a little to heavy on the food the vet was selling us. She adjusted well to it and looks forward to meal time!
