Bloodshot Eyes

Hello Everyone...

Quick question, whenever we get back from the park or a long walk Rugby's eyes appear to be terribly bloodshot. They whiten after a while, but I just wanted to know if this is common? We try to get him to drink water when we get home as I thought it might be a slight dehydration issue, but any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Brewer's get that way when he is tired. I just let him nap and they are back to normal.

Could just be allergies.

Fatboy has them.  I joke with the hubs that he's allergic to himself =P

Lots of exercise? allergies ? maybe its a rise in blood pressure from exercise ?  I'm not really sure  -

Maybe he's slipping off to the bar when you are in the park, and galavanting around really late at night :P

I knew Rugby was sneaking into our liquor cabinet... I guess he is taking after his party animal parents ;-)

Thanks for the info... he doesn't really pull on the leash but I know he was having fun playing with a St. Bernard yesterday (Mike was walking him) AND he was tired, so that most likely contributed. His eyes were much better this morning.
