Heh. Montreal is quite a hike, even from Boston, isn't it? Do you have a Ren Faire up there I could come vend at, maybe?
I can't contemplate having two puppies at once, so I haven't thought of bulldog names in pairs. But I kind of want to name one Temeraire (for the dragon in Naomi Novik's books). Or Stormageddon, which is a Doctor Who reference.....Because I'm a dork.

I think about a seven hour drive. Definitely do-able :)
I don't know of any Ren fairs, but there is a famous medieval battle event that takes place in a region a couple of hours out of the city. Unfortunately, their website is all in French... but here are a few details.
Bicolline
August 14th to 21st 2011 Come take part in the biggest fantasy medieval gathering in North America and experience the thrills of life & war in the Middle Ages ! During 7 days, thousands of enthusiasts experience total immersion in a medieval village with over 100 buildings, where strange characters roam about after nightfall.... Various activities for one and all are organized. Open : Fee and costumes are mandatory. If you want to cruise the images, here's the site: http://www.bicolline.org/
And from one dork to another - When I was a kid, I wanted to name one of my cats Morag from one of my favorite sci-fi books at the time (can't even remember it now). But my mom vetoed it saying it was a terrible, ugly name, lol! She ended up being Meringue - somewhat of a compromise.

Sounds (and looks) a lot like Pennsic, down in Pennsylvania, which is a 2 week long SCA event. Is the SCA active in Canada? I wonder if they're connected to this event, too. I browsed the website, and was reminded of my AWFULLY rudimentary knowledge of the French language! I always think I'll be able to puzzle these things out, but wind up with only the vaguest understanding.

Fuji (16yr old cat) is a manx - no tail, which is probably a good thing - cuz he would have had it a few times. When she goes I do want to get another cat but am afraid!lol

Pippen doesn't love Beatrix QUITE as much as Beatrix loves Pippen. But she does put up with an awful lot of affection, cuddling, and occasional ear-nomming, so I think it's at least a bit reciprocated. :)

Pippen at least LIKES Beatrix. She rarely initiates the cuddling, but she does allow it. And I have occasionally seen her go up to Beatrix and do that "I own you" rub along Beatrix's side, so.
:) love it :)
too cute
Last steps taken May 26, 2014 -- Been rolling along ever since . . . .

Alas, no, though that was the first thing I thought of when we got her, too. :) She came to us pre-named from her former home.
When I was a kid, we would occasionally get and name cats in pairs. We had a Lenny and Squiggy, and an Oliver and Fagin.
We had a Puss and a Boots
And we had two baby goats called Salt and Pepper!
Seriously, I really am starting to think that you and I were separated at birth, lol!
When are you coming to visit Montreal, so we can discuss this in depth?
And as for the double naming
On my list of potential, down the road, bulldog names, I have a Wayne and Garth, and a Will and Harry!
I crack myself up!
