Your favorite raw books and sites?

I have a friend who is seriously interested in knowing more about raw. I'm going to order her some books, I have 2 that I'm going to get for sure... but in the meantime I'd like to know what everyone's favorite sites are and also what everyone's favorite books are.. if there is a consensus then I'll definitely buy those books too.

Thanks!

dfc is a little more hardcore so you have to watch out for that and your bully (they think weird stuff sometimes like 40%+ protein is cool; be smart)

anything crunchy and munchy on youtube the more you watch and see for yourself the better

this one from Carol

is awesome!

I don't agree with the necessity for a dedicated freezer, or buying food in bulk. I look at it like this. My dog needs 25 lbs of food per month, there is no need for me to buy and stockpile a freezer full of food to have on hand at all times. I am still only going to use 25 pounds a month, even if I have 125 pounds in my freezer. Even when I was feeding 3, I don't see the need to always have on hand 5x the amount of food than they actually could possibly eat or even need. If I happen upon a great deal, yes it will go in my freezer. But do I feel like I need to always have a few months worth on hand? No. Most of what Audrey eats is fresh, not frozen. Not all, but most.

The freezer

I have a small one I live in a 3rd floor apt it currently has 3 turkeys, 2 venison rib racks (thanks to the guys at work), 60+ lbs of various chicken parts, 10* lbs of pork ribs and >10lbs of beef ribs and some odd number organ lbs.  But I feed 2 dogs and an ebil kitteh.  If the freezer clunked on me I would die omg!  I do grind some of the meat and package it 2 weeks worth at a time into seperate containers.  I work 60 hours a week and it is easier to take the containers out and have them ready in case the "pet nanny" has to feed them if I get stuck at the dealership too long.  However every time you talk about Audrey's fresh meat and such I get uber jealous because I wish I had the time :/

we don't grind Audrey's

so it's not a whole lot of work. Eric just cuts it into chunks. He usually gets 4 or 5 days worth cut up at a time and we keep it in her bin in the fridge.

Chopping the chicken bone is kind of a pain, and sometimes he chops a lot and freezes some, and sometimes he just does enough for about a week.

Organs are cut and frozen. She can't eat them fast enough for them to stay fresh.
