i think it is OK, but check with your vet. Rex's has been yellow on occassion after he has eaten grass (which he is allergic to) and I've watched him and he seemed OK. The vet did not think it was anything. Hopefully someone else can give you more info. Does your dog do this a lot? Any current medical issues?

And I think it's because we've had a lot of company over recently. More than usual. For a couple of weeks we've had different family staying over; my mom for one weekend and then the aunt and uncle the next. Plus a huge family dinner on one of those nights. When Fatboy sees a lot of commotion he doesn't eat a whole lot. We have to lock him in the room w/his food and water to make him eat. Sometimes shred some cheese for him so it'll entice him.
He's doing better now though. Except his appetite isn't back yet. I can't tell if something is wrong or if he's just a picky eater. I've switched out foods twice now. I think he might be a wet dog food eater vs. dry.
My Chloe has also done this but it seems to be bile. For her it indicates that she is really hungry in the morning. Once fed she is fine. It only ever happens in the morning and then only very occasionally. Keep an eye on your dog though in case it is more serious.

I feed my dogs in 12 hour increments, no longer than that between feedings though. I have two with stomach acid problems and they will throw up yellow bile if they go too long without food. So I give them their meals 12 hours apart, and usually I give them one treat during the time between breakfast and dinner, and one small nibble treat before bedtime, just to be safe.

Dozer gets it as well sometimes in the morning , if we have to feed him dinner earlier then usual ( ex if were going out well feed him before) . when we get home well give him a treat, or a 1/4 a cup of food so hes not on empty for to long or hell usually throw up around 5 in the morning.. ive talked to my vet about it, he said its not to serious, ad if this works then keep up with it. Good luck, Hope that helps out a little.
I've seen yellow too,

Bile...
Probably from empty tummy. Give a biscuit at bed time so his tummy's not completely empty in the morning.
I agree, empty tummy.
