yeasty nose ropes

What is the typical cause ofthis problem.  My dogs faces are all yeasty.  Is it the heat too?  I really don't want to chsnge their food AGAIN.  THey ahve been on fish for awhile.  I say they are allergic to chicken but my two puppies were eating chicken when I got them and they looked beautiful.  When they were in puppy school, they all had chicken liver treats, with no problems.  What to do?

Sorry but I think that is allergies

something they are eating is not agreeing with them.  =(

medicated wipes

My bullie had that problem in his folds. It started near his eyes because we have to give him eye drops 4 times a day, the vet said it probably drips onto his face and it never dries properly. Anyways, i've been wiping his folds with these medicated wipes i bought from the vet.. it works like magic

You can also try cleaning the folds with one part vinager 3 parts water. they hate the smell but it helps clear up the yeast.

I don' tknow what the cause may be for your bullie, but it could be the food... is he itchy at all?

hey Lori

try using and ear wash/cleanser like Epi Otic or Nolvasan.  They have ingredients to stop yeast, moustire and bacteria.  That may help if it isn't a food releated issue.

I have always used that on my guys folds and in between toes and have never had fold issues or yeast.

Hope it's not the food again :(

read the article linked below on yeast,

allergies and digestive issues. It explains the relationship between food, digestion, and overall health very well. A yeasty smell is food related. It can take a while for a dog to show food allergies, because it builds up over time til the system can't handle it anymore.

Thanks for the responses. I do think it's the food.

I have four of them on Blue Buffalo Basics, salmon,  and Spike, who had anal gland issues, is on California Natural Fish based.  Maybe it's time to try another protein source.  Spike still needs food that lets him produce more stool, since his anal glands don't express well if he is on grain free.  I will try all the mentioned fixes for the yeasty folds.  Thanks again.
