Yeast???

Hi everyone, last week I posted pics of my sweet Gemma after I rubbed her face raw from cleaning her wrinkles...this week I haven't done much cleaning at all and they look gross! This is probably the reason why I cleaned them before. She has hard, crusty, yellowish junk in there. I had to clean them a little today to see what was going on in there. Someone asked me about yeast the last time and I wasn't sure what it looked like. I try SO hard to keep her smelling fresh but nothing seems to help! Maybe yeast is the cause of the smell! If it is what is the best way to get rid of it. I'm in China so I don't have access to a lot of the over the counter medicines.

Just trying to do all the right things for her...sometimes that is difficult!

Thanks

I'd try

Apple cider vinegar and water mix to gently clean.

Maybe on a small place first.

If it's yeast it should help.

Yellow Listerine kills yeast

(the antibacterial mouthwash)

Listerine and apple cider vinegar....

...(usually followed by gold bond powder after drying) are always good first remedies to try for skin issues.  Your vet might prescribe some ketoconazole for a while, and that would clear it up, but you need to find out what's causing it and/or how to keep it controlled.  I've used ottomax in the nose wrinkle, too....and that reminds me that ear drying cleaners are also good for cleaning this area--like epiotic or similar.  Good luck.
