Wrinkle medication

Hi  guys,

First of all, I apologize because I know there have been numerous threads about this, but I just want to make sure I have this right. My Tucker has developed red irritation in his "nose" fold (I'm sure there is a name for it, I just don't know what else to call it!)

I remember reading to use Desitin or Aveeno diaper rash for this. Is that right? Anything else I should be using? Last night I just cleaned it and put some Neosporin on it temporarily. Thanks in advance guys!

I have used Desitin successfully.

You can also use Gold Bond powder for wrinkles. Just wipe a bit in with a cotton make-up type square after cleaning the fold well.

Desitin is what I use...

for irritations.  Just be careful not to get any in his eyes.

Thanks guys. I will try

Thanks guys. I will try Desitin, does it matter which kind?

Desitin it is also...

keep clear vinegar and water (1/2 and 1/2) in a bottle and spray their irritated spots, it works.  We use that on our older bully, his neck area and it clears it up.

Desitin we use on the pup around his face - it keeps him clear (he is white so even the stains are clean).

hope that helps.

Yes, the irritated area is

Yes, the irritated area is around his face (nose area), so I think the Desitin may be best (from what I hear on this site). Could I use the vinegar and water mix to clean it?

I would think

the Vinegar and Water would sting.  I personally would use something non-stinging.

to clean w/vinegar

Not on his face, that's mainly for body area, neck, etc...To clean and help w/irritation and skin issues.  I use crystal eye (tear stain remover) on face to clean face and then wipe w/Desitin so that won't leave redness or sting.  Face is sensitive.

Desitin

I hated Desitin.  If the dog rubs it leaves white greasy stuff all over your furniture and it just doesn't wash up.

I got some Desitin and put it

I got some Desitin and put it on Tucker's nose wrinkle. I was debating on whether to get Desitin or Aveeno, but since there has been much success with Desitin, I decided to go ahead and try it. He has rubbed some on the carpet, which is fine since our carpet is pretty light. And he only did it once or twice and then left it alone. We'll see tomorrow how its looking...if he continues to rub it on carpet/furniture, I may try the Aveeno? Is that the alternative?

Sure anything

like that is fine.  I have Butt Paste as well.  But I rarely have to use any of that stuff.

smearing of desitin

if you put the desitin on cotton and rub on his face, it shouldn't rub off on furniture or carpet.  Maybe you are putting too much?

I don't use Desitin

I  use triple paste medicated ointment  ( fragrance free & Hypoallergenic)
Desitin has BHT.
You may try it , you can find this product at walgreens or Rite Aide.
