It is something I have been considering because Chumlee's poos have never been nice ones. My other dog loves veggies. Chumlee has had a carrot or two in his days and since he has been on his last few days of his bland diet he has had some baby carrots cut in half. I've been working on his training because this little bugger decided it is fun to run out the door then turn around and stop and wait for you to come out with him like "hey are you ready to go or what?" His treats have always been grain free ones since we have discovered them 3 months ago (we've never had a grain free dog). His poos have gotten better since grain free. Am I leaning towards veggies because in my eyes they just seem to be the better alternative to the culprit treats? I'm starting to believe that deep down inside I may be a raw feeder at heart? Is this how it all starts? What do you think about organic veggies is that the route we should go?
He is so funny he just stares at the popcorn but he won't take any! Well I should say, he hasn't yet... That's a little too close.

I try not to give treats.
I have enough issues with my Sophie, I don't want to make them worse! So she only gets a quick sliver of cheese if her daddy is being naughty and feeding her. Otherwise, no treats:-( If anything, I think fresh veggies would be best.

Hi Amy I've been meaning to ask you
You have mentioned before that you rotate NB bags. Duck to bison as an example and then to something else or back...when you do this do you mix it just like you are switching dog foods?

I am bad...I just switch!
If your boy has a tummy issue though, go slow and do it mixed. Sophie has a stomach of steel, I am not kidding, and can handle a flat out food switch. I got so blessed on that one!

Can his tummy deal with the fiber?
I sometimes give Kofi a slice of apple, but she has become bored with other raw veggies or fruit unless I pulverize them into veggie glop.
I do keep slightly boiled chicken livers in the frige for her treats, at present.
I boil them because they don't slide down as quickly, and I tell myself that it's more of a treat.
These of course, are in addition to the raw organ meat she gets in her regular diet.
I'm so glad that Chumlee is doing better.
I'm sure he would like that too
I think he needs more fiber to firm up his pastey poos. Someday this boy will have a normal poo and when he does I swear WE WILL CELEBRATE!!

Well, liver sure won't add more fiber.
If you grind up veggies though, he will get both the nutrients and the fiber. Maybe that will help his poo's firm up.
Sorry, I thought his runny poo's were better.
I used organic carrots
I used the long ones. I would wash them and then cut thin slices. They are fiber and it depends on how your dog reacts to fiber. The thin slices never effected Rocky he enjoyed them. I don't really think it's the quanity some much it is that they are getting people food which I think is something special to them.

I'm always up shopping wait I mean browsing online way too late at night for bulldog stuff. I did mention the dehydrator to the guy that sits on the other end of the couch and he seemed interested! So maybe I won't get so much grief for that purchase unlike everything else he shakes his head. Thank you Judy
