White thick foamy phlegm

When Spike goes outside and he runs around, he come running into the house and shoulds like he's got a lot of phlegm in his mouth, he usually gets it up and out, this morning he had food in it too.  He has had two palatte surgeries, do I need to worry or is this normal for bulldogs.

My 7 mo old puppy has white foamy phlem EVERY morning ...

When she wakes us, she is so congested.  I feel bad for her.  She had soft palate correction 3 weeks ago, but I don't notice a whole lot of difference.  This is our first bulldog, so I'm not an expert on these dogs.  I'm hoping this is something she will outgrow.  For you, I would try to keep your bulldog cool and not over-exercise - this will cause phlem.  Good luck!  Deanne

The soft palat drops down and in some bulldogs this can effect their airway. You both mention phlegm. I would highly suggest that you buy lemon juice the one in the plastic lemon if you don't already have it. Lemon juice acts as a mucolitic and will breakdown phlegm facilitating in it's removal. If the phlegm is thick and the dog can't clear it, it will block of your dogs airway and cause death. You can even use your finger and do a fingersweep in the mouth to help remove it. With the lemon juice you just give a big squirt towards the back of the throat.

Phlegm

Thanks for the input. I do have the lemon juice.  He hates it, we had to use it in the puppy class that I took him to, and now all he has to do is see the botle and runs!  But I do also have 7 up in the house, someone had suggeste that to me in place of the lemon juice.  Thanks again.
