What would you do?

I am going to my first Bulldog Club meeting (Austin) tonight. I really want to bring Stella to meet everyone but I am not really sure if I should bring her because she is pregnant. - I mean she's had LOTS of shots so I don't worry about her getting any diseases... and she LOVES to go for rides and see new places/things... so I don't think it will stress her out. I just worry if it's a good idea to bring her.. Will people judge me because she's pregnant? My mentor is a member but she won't be going tonight. She said she wouldn't bring her because of risk or injury.. I'm not really sure what's she's talking about, how could Stella get injured? Maybe she means like a car accident injury... I don't know. All I know is I really want to bring her. Other than my mentor's dogs Stella's never been around Bulldogs and she's only met those dogs twice... so I think it would be neat. Plus I'd like to see what other's think about her quality... It might be to late to show her but it would be nice to have other's opinons on whether she'll have good chances of producing nice pups... Of course, my mentor thinks she will... especially with that specific stud, but it's nice to have more opinions than just one....

But, As much as I know I want to bring her... I wonder if it's a bad idea, What do you all think? If she were yours, would you bring her?

leave her home

i dont know how far along she is.....but over excitedment she could lose the pups they could be reasbored in uterus...another dog trying to play could hurt her ...no leave her safe where she belongs at this special time

Thanks!

Thanks, I think deap down I knew that's what was best... but it was so hard for me to decide not to bring her because I want everyone to meet her. But you are right, leaving her home is best and that's what I am going to do. My mentor has 20+ years of experience so there's no reason for me to not listen to her on this one.Plus, if you say so too.. that's 2 people and my gut telling me what the right decision is.

Thanks!

Bring a few nice pictures....

Have fun at the meeting; meet the members and most often at meetings dogs are not there. Only at the matches and shows.

Barbara

Thanks

I did have fun. I didn't bring her but there were 3 Bulldogs there and only about 15 members. One of the Bulldogs took a fancy to me because every time I'd pet him his rear end would start moving up and down... I of course wasn't looking at him when I was petting him as I was looking at the person talking at the time... but apparently everyone else saw it and started laughing... I looked down.. a bit embarrassed but took it in stride and had a good laugh myself.

Everyone seamed very nice. I sponsored a trophy so hopefully that will win me some points and I'll be voted in the 3rd time I go to the meeting. lol.  The meeting lasted about 30 minutes and they talked about a B-match (for puppies) coming up on Halloween... They are doing other stuff with it and it sounded like a blast but I'll have 2 week puppies at that time and will be at home pup sitting. I'm bummed that I can't make it but at the same time... my reasoning isn't so bad. I love puppies... or any baby animals for that matter. I'll enjoy just hanging out with them I'm sure.

Their first show is in January... I wonder if maybe someone could help me get Stella ready to show by then and maybe I could compete for just the fun of it... I wonder if it counts against you if you lose? I also wonder if I'd be able to find handler if I wasn't able to jog yet. hmmm.... lots to think about. I may not be in the show but I'll defnitely be there to at least watch.
