Well, now Sophie has had head shakes on NB Fish and sweet potato.

She started getting goopy eyes about 1/4 of the way through two bags ago, she developed some entropian lids during the last bag as well as tear stains, now less than halfway through this bag (I bought the giant bag so I could feed my Dobe and Sophie the same food), Sophie has head shakes less than half way through this new bag. I am beyond frustrated. She has been on this food for more than two years!! Anyone else haing issues pretty recently with NB Fish and Sweet potato??

That is my thought as well.

The only time Sophie ever had head shakes was last year...I tried switching her to a less expensive grain free food. Within a few weeks she had head shakes a lot, so I switched her right back to NB and she has been completely fine ever since. Frustrating to say the least!

i did, NB grain free formulas dont work for JL

i went with TOTW Salmon and Missing Link.  No issues, no eyestains, no probs at all.  she is growing hair like crazy and only poops 2x a day.  T&JL

TOTW was what made her have the first ones!

I had tried switching her to TOTW because it costs less than NB, but that made her get teh head shakes and so I went back to NB. They stopped for over a year, now she is having them on this food. I am going to the food shop tomorrow and see what the owner recommends. They are pretty good in their knowledge of the foods they sell and what works for what breeds. Cool folks:-)

well i guess you can take TOTW off your list.

trial and error is pretty common with foods.  i use TOTW and The Missing Link with great results.  Hope it all works out for you.  T&JL

Yes, we have recently have issues with NB Sweet Potato & Fish

I posted a few times in the last couple weeks also wondering if others had issues.

Harley has been on it since about 4 mths old with no problems.  In the last month or so, licking, itching, super red irritated folds.  Nothing has changed so we suspect  something with this food.  He also didn't seem to be "liking" it as well.

We bought small bag of NB Sweet Potato & Bison and he likes it and no more licking, itching,  folds still red and irritated but I think getting better.

BTW - If you purchased the big bag at Petco you can return even if partially used and they will refund.

I am taking it tomorrow back to teh store I bought it from.

It is a privately owned pet food store. THey will take it back and swap me for a bag of the bison I think. I am going to try that. Sophia has been unusually itchy as well and nothing here has changed at all. I noticed a couple of bags ago that the feed smelled really yukcy, just TOO fishy smelling....but in a bad way. The last beg seemed better, but now this bag is the same stinky smell.

head shakes

Mine re doing really well on Blue Buffalo, basics, fish and sweet potato.  No more head shakes, but Jackson is going on three and still ocassionally has some.  But nothing to worry about I am told as long as you can call them and they respond to them and they don't get worse.  I give him honey or try and change his focus and they do stop.

Blue Buffalo is an excellent food.

I have thought about putting my girls on it. I have heard they have a lot of stool on that food. Any information about that?
