I noticed when I got home yesterday that Maggie had vomited yellow bile (She's a couple months shy of 2 years old). She did it again a little later before I fed her - she's usually fed about 12 hours apart). This morning she vomited a small amount of mostly broken down/soft food. This was also before I fed her. She ate fine both times, and she pooped last night after her dinner and it appeared normal. She wasn't as playful as normal last night and seemed to want to sit in our laps more than usual, I'm guessing because her tummy was upset.
I'm a little concerned because we've switched her food and am hoping it's not something in the food. We did the process slowly and she didn't have any issues or loose stools during the process. She's been on the full amount of the new stuff (TOTW High Praire) for just under a week.
Any thoughts or ideas?
Check the protein level in that food...
I think the High Prarie is one of the high protein foods. Check it out. If she went from a lower protein diet to a higher protein diet it could affect her tummy. I would use one of teh TOTW lower protein foods, like salmon or lamb.
Amy and Sophia
Hadn't thought about that.
According to dogfoodadvisor, It looks like it's a 13% increase in protein - yikes! They were on NB Sweet Potato & Fish before.
You could stick with the grain free...
just do the pacific stream (salmon) or lamb and see if it makes a difference. I believe both are around 25% protein.
maybe feed her 3 meals instead of two.. or snacks?
my kelpie and bully use to do that if their stomach got too empty in between meals, so i actually split their meals and feed them 4 times a day.. or I try to give them treats in between. good luck
