So i'm still new to Bulldogs. I'm trying to just stick to the basics...I live out of the country so it is hard for me to get many of the dog foods mentioned on this site. Since Gemma was a puppy she has been eating Puppy Purina Pro Plan Chicken and Rice. I believe the only other option I have is Royal Canine. She is 5 months now. Should I be giving her anything extra ? Calcuim, Oils, etc? My breeder did give me some advice but i'd also like others opinions.
Thanks!
How does her coat look?
I only give extra stuff if I think they need it. If her coats looks dull dry and skin is flakey then you can do salmon oil and since she is young you can give a supplement. I used to use Missing link before feeding raw and liked it. I bought it online. I've also used SeaMeal. With the Natures Variety raw that I feed I don't need additional supplements to acheive a nice shiney coat. The only supplement I give is a joint supplement to the older dogs.
her coat is a little dry in
her coat is a little dry in some spots. I probably do need to get her some type of fish oil to take. For our last dog the trainer said a raw egg is good for the coat. Is that ok to give a bulldog? Not sure if she would like it or not. I won't be able to get her the oil until I go back to America next month. Thanks for the help :)
I give one Salmon oil capsule daily in feed.
My German Shepherd girl is a rescue who had terrible skin. I started her on Norwegian Salmon Oil pills daily, one in each meal, then broke it down to just once a day. She is doing AWESOME!! She has the most lovely coat. All three of my girls do very well on the salmon oil. I buy it at Walmart for about 7 bucks a bottle.
