Why do vets insist raw diet is bad for bullies? Took Bear for his physical and asked vet what she thought of raw (this is a different vet from the one before) and she said they cannot digest the bacteria from raw. She has been a vet for over 10 yrs.
Is there a vet that will tell you raw is the best choice? Is the reason they tell you its bad so we can keep paying up the ying yang in vet bills?
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
I can't speak for the vets,
but when they give explanations that are wrong (since the response you got), they lose all credibility in my eyes.
I do understand the need to be well informed before beginning to feed raw.
I found a vet that is only too happy to work with me, and honestly said that he really wasn't well informed as to the benefits of raw, but had those who came to him who were practicing.
He was only too happy to accept the book Raw Meaty Bones by Tom Lonsdale. This is a good book to take to your vet if they are interested in informing themselves.
I hope you are able to either find a holistic vet in your area, or someone open minded who will work with you.
The results cannot be ignored.
how annoying!
My vet had no problem with me feeding raw, but he did say don't feed her only meat. (I only feed her meat)
I would look into a new vet. If this one is that far off from what a dogs' stomach can and can not handle, what else is she wrong about?

My vet is fine with Raw
it just depends on the vet.

Look for a holistic vet in your area, they prefer natural methods, cost less and are advocates for the best food...raw.
