My son took Maverick to our vet today. I had posted yesterday that he had lost his appetite but otherwise seemed fine.
News was not good but we are hoping with proper treatment outcome will be OK.
At Mavericks 6 wk. puppy check up doctor found "slight" heart murmur. Thought perhaps he would outgrow it but didn't seem overly concerned because it was not severe. Dr. has continually monitored it and although he did not outgrow it, it was still not of great concern. Maverick was the puppy my oldest son Nick chose from my youngest son's liter last summer. His sire and dam have no serious health issues and no known heart issues in either line.
Today, Dr. discovered fluid build up in Mavericks heart , lungs, and throat caused by his heart not functioning efficiently due to the murmur. We are very surprised due to the fact that he has remained extremely active and appeared normal, he just didn't seem to want to eat much.
He is now on several medications. Heart medication, Lasix for fluid retention, appetite enhancer, B-12,and B complex. We are really hoping that his appetite improves and his heart will get stronger with the meds. He may require the heart medication forever.
Very worried but also optimistic that he can live long and happy bully life.
- Would appreciate any advise from those who have experience with bully heart issues.

Well phooey
That's kind of discouraging... I, personally, would make an appointment with a cardiologist to come up with the optimal plan.
Also, I know some conditions have been misdiagnozed as heart issues and I'd want to be sure this is what Mav is dealing with.
Best of luck with that sweet boy!
Sorry to hear that
Hopefully the meds will give him a long life.
Sorry
to hear that. My 8 wk old pup was diagnosed with grade 3 murmur. We are getting an ultrasound in two weeks.
Hope you have a cardiac specialist to work with. Did they give Maverick a grade? Don't know what else we can do.
So scary, I know. We can support each other as we go through this. Hugs...
Well drat. That isn't good news.
I hope he will respond to the medication and be ok. Please keep us posted.
