Hello BDW friends!
I wanted to give you an update on Tuffy's eye ulcer. We've treated him for three weeks and I'm delighted to say that the ophthalmologist reported yesterday that his eye ulcer is almost entirely healed and his tear production is vastly improved. All those round the clock eye drops/ointments/artificial tears worked I guess. In all my time as a pet owner I've never had a more positive experience at a veterinarian practice. Cornell University Veterinary Specialist pet hospital recently opened in my town and they are an emergency vet/and vet speciality practice with specialists in ophthalmology, oncology, critical care, orthopedic surgery, etc. We were referred there by our regular vet. It's a teaching hospital and the entire staff (from the assistants to the ophthalmologist) gave Tuffy exemplary care, and I've never seen such affection and caring in my life. Tuffy was totally lavished with love at this place. I wish that my human doctors had this kind of bedside manner. It's clear that the people working at this practice truly love animals and it's not just a "business" which, sadly, is what a lot of vet practices in my experience have been like. If anyone ever is in the Stamford area in need of a dog specialist I highly recommend the Cornell University vet specialist hospital.
Thank you everyone for all your support.

One more thing regarding eye squinting
Forgot to mention that since Tuffy still squints sometimes the vet examined Tuffy closely for entropion and none could be detected. He said that since his ulcer is almost entirely healed his squinting should subside greatly over the next week or so. If not, he feels it may be allergy related since his eyes are a bit red and I mentioned he's been scratching and licking his paws Has anyone had any issues with allergies causing red eyes and eye squinting?
Glad he is on the mend
Our BamBam had an ulcer, tooks weeks to heal.
Tuffy must feel so much better, ulcers have got to be painful.
Hugs to the patient
