My 1 year old English Bulldog Dottie was born with a hernia. Our breeder had it fixed before we picked her up. When we decided to have dottie spayed 3 months ago, we never knew it would turn out to be 4 surgeries. For some reason, the inner lining of skin next to the scaring from the hernia won't close up. She just got home yesterday from her forth surgury. Vet guarentees us this will be the last one. Are there any health issues with bulldogs that could prevent them from healing properly? Or are Bulldogs slow healers? I'm dumdfounded at this time why this 3 inch hole won't close up. Any ideas?????

I'm sorry your girl is going through this! I really hope that the vet is right and this is the last time she has to have anything done. I can't think of anything off hand that would cause this problem, but maybe others on the board with more experience with bullies might have some insight.
I will say a prayer for you and her that she heals quickly and completely this time!
