Tuffy popped a zit on his chin and there's a little bit of bloody discharge. I dapped some witch hazel on it. Is that the right course of treatment or should I apply warm compresses?

My vet wants me to try to stop giving him cephalexin (was giving a low dose to combat zits) and see how it goes so a side effect is a couple more zits here and there. But I'm trying to hang in there and not jump right back into antibiotics! I also think the cephalexin probably wasn't doing his sensitive tummy any favors...
