Trachea tube size

My Sally just had double cherry eye, entropion and dystacia (sp?) surgery yesterday. The opthamologist mentioned she was only able to get a 4 and then a 4.5 trachea tube down Sally. I knew she had a small trachea from a prior x-Ray. I was just wondering what size other bulldogs have used. Does anybody else have trachea issues?

Our boys have been around a 7...

I was told that our boy Oscar had a small trachea, but it never seemed to be a problem.  He passed away at 6 from lymphoma, so I don't know if he'd of had any problems later on.  They never did say how small.  I think anything below a 4 is worrisome.

A '5" here

I asked the surgical tech to check the records. Myka was spayed this week. She said 5-6 was fairly typical in the bulldogs. I do recall that one of mine had a large 7 but it didn't correlate to the breathing sounds at all. Myka is the quietest breather I've ever had.

Anyone else out there with Small trachea issues?

When Sally was spayed her reg vet used a 6. Now the opthamologist last week says they could only get a 4.5 when they did her eye surgery. I don't understand the difference in size. Could her trachea be getting smaller as she gets older? She just turned 1 yr this month.
