Too High protein concerns??????

When you feed raw the basis of the diet  is protein ?  This may be a dumb question,  but I am confused why raw would be ok for their organs but not a kibble that has a 38% protein analysis and comes from meat protein and not plant protein?   I am using Orijen Red for Cooper and am wondering if I should be concerned.  Thanks

It's NOT the percentage you need to worry about!

It's the TYPE of protein, and how hard their body has to work to get the useable protein out of the food. Read that article I posted below, it does expalin it very well.

And raw meat is mostly water,(70+%) the protein is actually not that high. It's also the LACK of moisture in kibble that contributes to the kidney issues.

Thanks Cathy......

That does clear it up.  I am really considering raw, and my husband wants to kill me.  Cooper was so picky that I switched his food constantly and the Orijen he loves and my husband said that we are not switching anymore.   You can imagine his face when I told him I was considering raw .... especially because I am a vegetarian!!!!!.  I just want whats best for my kids :) I enjoy this forum and after reading about all the raw benefits I am actually considering it.
