For those having issues with NB Sweet Potato and Fish.

Itchy, watery entropian eyes, itchy legs and paws with lots of red on the front of her legs, and tear stains coming out for the first time. I finally went to the pet food place I buy her NB from and asked them to trade me out for Sweet Potato and Bison. She had her first meal of it Friday night. Today, no itching at all. No watery, entropian eyes (and I mean COMPLETELY gone). No red on her legs and no more licking, licking, licking. Her face isn't red at all. Tear stains are dried up and starting to clear a bit. Amazing, simply amazing.
I suggest you try the same if you are having issues with NB fish.

Speaking of red face, I notice that Tuffy's face gets a bit red after he eats certain things (it happened tonight after he had a little bit of wet canned dog food (salmon) that I mixed in with his lamb and rice kibble). Is this a sign of an allergy?
It could be.
If you want to try the NB Fish, it is a great food. Sophia reacts to her food every couple of years and I switch it. It happened 2 years ago when she was on Royal Canin, now it is the NB Sweet Potato and Fish. I have heard a lot of folks are having issues with the fish is all, but not everyone who uses it is. The guy at the food store was surprised, he hadn't had one other complaint at all. They may not have been Bully owners though, and Bullys are notorios allergy dogs!

I am also having issues with the sweet potato and fish
In the last few weeks my one girl has been chewing on her feet and her face has been super itchy and red. My boy has been chewing like crazy on his feet and has stained feet/legs and I have also noticed him taking his back leg to scratch his front leg. Another one of my girls eyes have been watering like crazy. I was just thinking it was the change in the weather but now you have me wondering if it is the food. I have about had it with natural balance because I have tried all of their allergy formulas except the bison and every formula my dogs end up having issues of some sort. I hope your girl keeps on doing good on the food!
We just switched also and are having good results with the Bison
I had posted earlier about issues we were having with Harley. Itching, redness, licking, irritated folds,watery eyes. Harley had been on NB Sweet Potato and Fish since 4 mths old and is now 18 mths old. We switched to NB Sweet potato and Bison a few weeks ago. No more itching, licking, and redness and irritation is clearing up. Think it had to be something with the NB Potato and Fish. Nothing else different for him.

I was just going to post on the subject. I also have been using that formula and mine has been going crazy......I am on my way out to try NB Bison.

is anyone worried about the oil spill.....
i dont feed kiddle but i do feed raw fish.....but at this time i have taken herring off my list.....i am worried about salmon...remember just becasue its not fit for human comsumption they will use bad fish for animals...so be careful....those feeding a fish based kibble....

That is what started this with Sophie too. A strong fishy smell
About 3 bags ago. That would have been appoximately 3 months ago. Ever since, she has been itchy. The Bison seems to be working wonders though, she is no longer licking and red:-)

UPDATE: JUST RECEIVED AND EMAIL FROM NB
They have stated that there has been no change to this food and have not heard about anyone else having issues. I am not sure if you guys have reported this to them but I would.
I went online their website last night and typed them a friendly email.
They are sending me a voucher for a new bag and also sending a fed ex envelope for me to send them 2-3 cups and they also want BEST BY date but I don't have that cause I throw the bag away so I can't really help them.
BLAST there email.. I know there is something wrong with it.

Responded, both on this forum and the old one. Also, I posted on two other sites and got similar responses. All of a sudden and about 4 months ago is when we started having issues on NB fish and sweet potato. It isn't coincidence:-)

I have seen it with Bella's tears, stains are back!
We had changed food from Royal Canine, as she reacted to their adult formula. All seemed well until about a month ago then overnite she had red tear stains!! I had just opened a new bag of the Sweet Potate and fish, but didn't connect it until I read this. Thanks, I will switch as well.
