Tear stains

We have a 9 week old pup who is into his third week of his raw diet and everything is going great with that, one question I have is he started with tear stains and was wondering if anyone who switched to raw notice the tear stains get worse before then get better.  I wondering if its a normal progression when transitioning to a new diet. I have heard that dogs can go though a cleansing phase when switching to raw so I am wondering if that might have something to do with it.  He only eats raw and gets bottled water to drink.  Any thoughts?  Thanks

Is he eating the frozen

Is he eating the frozen pre-packaged raw? We have been feeding our guy frozen raw from Primal, then switched to a different brand (Stella and Chewys),and I noticed tear stains as well.I saw that the new food has beet in there and thats a known cause for staining.

Thanks

No he's not eating any pre-packaged raw, just plain raw meat that we have been buying, I know some red meat can cause staining to but he's not even eating red meat yet.

When we started feeding raw

When we started feeding raw to both of our guys they started to have tear staining. As soon as we stopped and went back to Natures Variety Instinct kibble, the staining stopped.
